Children are never too young to come to church and are very welcome at All Saints’.

Junior Church aims to provide a fun environment for the children and young people to learn more about the Christian faith.

The children who regularly (or infrequently) come to All Saints’ form a valuable part of our church family and the Junior Church leaders aim to ensure that they grow up with a knowledge and understanding of our faith.  As they grow older, we hope to support them as they make their own decisions about what Christianity means to them and consider coming forward for admission to communion and confirmation.

To try and meet these aims we use sessions during the 10am Sunday service to learn about bible stories, discuss their relevance to us and of course to do some much loved colouring and crafts!  We teach children the love of our Lord Jesus Christ through fun and thought-provoking, structured lessons. The activities and themes reflect the church calendar and prepare the older children for full participation in church worship.

The children and their leaders leave the main service shortly after the service starts and return after the peace allowing them the opportunity to take part in the ‘grown-up’ service as well as learning in an environment that is more tailored to them.

We also arrange occasional all-age services, which allow the children an opportunity to be part of the main congregation, and the adults a chance to appreciate our young people as they welcome visitors to our church, lead our prayers and provide our bible readings.

The sessions are aimed to accommodate children from around three years of age upwards. Although parents are welcome to stay for the duration, we encourage them, once their children feel comfortable, to return to church for the service.
