PAROCHIAL  CHURCH COUNCIL

'PCC’ stands for ‘Parochial Church Council’. It is a Church of England legal, executive body, made up of the clergy, churchwardens and laity who have legal responsibility for the parish church, the church’s finances and land. The PCC cooperates with and supports Fr John on matters concerning the church and parish as a whole, promoting the mission of the Church in the parish.  It is important to remember that an Anglican church has responsibility for the care of all the people in the parish and not just the people who go to the church.

The PCC is a body of Trustees for a charity and must ensure compliance with charity law, like any charity, but also compliance with ecclesiastical or canon law which is unique to Church of England churches.
